Combat Tips for Dealing with Leapers
Leapers are dangerous, but they are not invincible. With the right strategies and tools, you can take them down efficiently. Here are some key tips for ARC Raiders BluePrints combating Leapers.
1. Use Blaze Grenades
Blaze Grenades are one of the most effective methods for dealing with Leapers. These grenades deal continuous burning damage over time, making them ideal for chipping away at the Leaper's health from a distance. The best approach is to throw a Blaze Grenade directly onto the Leaper and wait for it to burn out. Once the burn stops, throw another grenade to repeat the damage cycle.
This tactic is effective because it forces the Leaper to stay in the area of effect, taking significant damage over time while you're free to focus on other enemies or prepare for the next phase of the fight. Once the Leaper has been sufficiently burned, it can be finished off with one or two shots from a Heavy Ammo weapon.
2. Stay Mobile
While the Leaper is fast, you can still outmaneuver it with quick, unpredictable movement. Sprinting away from a Leaper is generally not enough, as its leaps can cover much more ground. Instead, focus on dodging and weaving between cover to make it harder for the Leaper to land its devastating leaps. Use vertical terrain, buildings, and obstacles to break the Leaper's line of sight, giving you a chance to heal, reload, or regroup.
3. Prioritize the Leaper in Multi-Enemy Encounters
Leapers are often encountered alongside smaller enemies, and these can sometimes seem like the more immediate threat. However, the Leaper's leap attack and area damage can make it more dangerous than the smaller enemies, particularly in tight spaces. Always prioritize taking down the Leaper first when facing multiple enemies. Use your Blaze Grenades to soften it up before moving in with your heavy weapons.
4. Equip Heavy Ammo Weapons
Given the Leaper's high health pool, you'll need a weapon capable of dealing substantial damage. Heavy Ammo weapons are ideal for this, as they pack a punch and can whittle down the Leaper's health quickly. Ideally, you should use a weapon that can maintain sustained damage, such as a high-caliber rifle or a shotgun with significant stopping power.
A few well-placed shots can finish off a weakened Leaper after you've used Blaze Grenades to lower its health. Heavy Ammo weapons also help to deal with smaller enemies if they're in the area as well.
5. Watch for Shockwave Pulses
The shockwave pulse of a Leaper can deal a lot of damage and disrupt your positioning, especially when you're near cover or trying to reload. Always be aware of the Leaper's proximity and prepare to dodge or move quickly when you hear or see the pulse charging up. Avoid staying too close to the Leaper, as this will increase your chances of being caught in the shockwave radius.
6. Use the Environment to Your Advantage
Leapers are dangerous, but they are not omnipotent. Take advantage of environmental hazards or objects that can block their line of sight. While Leapers can leap great distances, they can't teleport through obstacles. Use terrain, elevated platforms, and narrow corridors to ARC Raiders buy Loot limit their mobility. This will give you more time to react and deal damage without being overwhelmed.
