I also noticed that some IMAP settings — like the root folder path (e.g. "INBOX") — are not available in the new Outlook, which makes troubleshooting more difficult. In the classic Outlook, I would normally check or adjust these. All default folder will show up as top-level ones and mail will start populating to the Inbox folder. For faster and more reliable delivery, add to your trusted senders list in your email software. Simply enter your email address OR username in order to reset your password.

Hence, the trashing of messages is registering on Gmail. It's just that the contents seem completely disconnected from what I see using webmail. If I click off of inbox and down to sent item, then click back on inbox, all of the new mail will populate. Outlook not syncing IMAP emails

I still have to manually click on a different folder other than inbox, then click back to inbox for new items to appear.
